The Studio@620 welcomes Philip A. Tibbs as he gives an informative, commemorative and historical presentation about his father's experiences as a Tuskegee Airman.
Cpl. Howard A. Tibbs was a member of the U.S. Army Air Forces during WWII. The Tuskegee Airmen/Women were America's first African American military aviation units. Cpl. Tibbs received a posthumous U.S. Congressional Gold Medal (bronze replica) in 2007 as one of the 17,000 Tuskegee Airmen/Women. Their group shares this distinction with the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela and other world dignitaries.
This presentation will include music, photographs, commentary and a discussion.
