Across The Pond

Part of the "Intimate Collaboration" series presented by The Florida Orchestra and The Studio@620

The Intimate Collaboration series continues on Tuesday, November 3 with "Across The Pond ".  This happening will include dance, song, rhythm, poetry, and music! With James MacMillan, composer & conductor and Jeff Multer, violin.

James MacMillan is one of today’s most successful living composers and is also internationally active as a conductor. His musical language is flooded with influences from his Scottish heritage, his Roman Catholic faith, social conscience and close connection with Celtic folk music, blended together with influences from Far Eastern, Scandinavian and Eastern European music.

After performing as concertmaster for eight of The Florida Orchestra's Masterworks concerts during the 2004/05 season, Jeffrey Multer was appointed the concertmaster during the 2005/06 season. Among his many musical posts, Multer serves as first violinist of the critically acclaimed Elements Quartet, whose New York series was named Best Classical Music Event of 2003 by The Washington Post. Multer has also appeared as soloist and recitalist at Lincoln Center in New York, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Rudolphinium in Prague, and the Kennedy Center and the National Gallery in Washington, DC.
