Part of the Emerging Artists Series

The Emerging Artists Series continues with the work of Johnnie Thomas, III.  Join us for the opening reception of "The Pagan Prosperity" on Friday September 11 from 6:30 - 9:00 pm.  Admission is free and open to the public.

Artist's Statement

The Pagan Prosperity is simply portraying my take on all the crippling systems and the reality of our failing world and the lives ensnared in-between. I am looking to illustrate some of the worlds obvious woes and some of the not so obvious, and I hope to do this through some obvious and some not so obvious means. Like the global events that take place in this world, I am choosing to give only hint and tidbits of direct definition of the works, as I feel this will lead to a more thought provoking body of work.  The works showcased will be an assortment of traditional and digital drawing/painting with some three dimensional pieces as well. Also each work will have its own writing that goes along with it as to help guide the observer through and around the piece, a kind of poetic field guild or helpful riddle. Strength from Joy!
