This is your opportunity to shine a little light on somebody who deserves our accolades and thanks. Nominate your heroes today!

About the Studio Honors Program and Community Nomination Process

The Studio Honors are awarded annually by the Studio@620 to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the arts, social justice, environment, science and economic development and other areas that are important to the world we live in.

Who are the Honorees?

We honor individuals who have contributed to our community, to our state, to our nation and to the world. We urge our community to call attention to the people who make this community and this world better. Each year we also seek to honor a young person who has just begun to play an effective role in our lives and those of others. In addition to the Community Nominations, one honoree is chosen by the Artistic Director of the Studio@620.

How are nominations made?

Nominations are made by the community from May through September 30, 2011. The Red Circle Members of the Studio@620 review the submissions in November and prepare a list of recommended honorees for consideration and approval of the Board of Trustees of the Studio@620. The awards will be announced in January and the honorees celebrated at the annual Studio Honors celebration in March. Multiple awards are given each year; the exact number to be determined by Red Circle and the Studio’s Board of Trustees. The Honors do not carry a cash award.

How can I make a nomination?

Nominations can be submitted using this form. If you are unable to download the file electronically, a copy can be picked up at the Studio at a performance, or requested by mail. You may nominate as many individuals for Studio Honors as you like. No anonymous nominations will be accepted; the nominator must identify him or herself and supply a contact phone number of email address. All nominations become the property of the Studio@620.

What is the Red Circle?

The Red Circle is the premiere membership level of the Studio@620. Each year the Red Circle members provide the sustaining level of support that our small, big-hearted organization requires. We honor our Red Circle Members by entrusting them with the responsibility of recommending recipients of the annual Studio Honors.

Who has the Studio honored in previous years?

In 2011 we recognized Pat Mason, Dennis Lehane, Go Davis, John Prendergast and Monica Raymund.  In 2010 we focused the spotlight on home-town favorite Buster Cooper. In previous years we honored John Hope Franklin, Herb Snitzer, Ray Arsenault, John Lewis, Susan Sarandon and Diane Nash.
