Midtown Through Our Eyes

An Annual Exhibition of Student Photography

The Studio@620 welcomes the return of "Midtown Through Our Eyes", an annual exhibit of student photography combined with evening community events that illustrate the experience of young people in the Midtown area of St. Petersburg.

42 student journalists. 100 photos. 1 magazine.

"Midtown through our Eyes" is a project by students of  Melrose Elementary, John Hopkins Middle, and Lakewood High schools. Students attend a "Journeys in Journalism" summer camp where they have the tools and opportunity to document what is happening around them. Through Midtown Magazine and this exhibit, you’ll truly see Midtown through their eyes.

This year the exhibit schedule includes a short documentary film about the "Midtown Through Our Eyes" program and a benefit concert by classical guitarist Andrew Geddis. These are in addition to the opening reception which features student docents and the ever popular "Taste of Midtown". Photographs will be on display October 7-16, 2011 during gallery hours, Tuesday-Saturday 12:00-4:00 PM. All events are free and open to the public, excluding the benefit concert. Join us and enjoy!
