A Haitian Relief Benefit
Mark Twain will be appearing on the 100th
anniversary of his alleged death to offer his views on the issues of his day, still
remarkably relevant one hundred years later. This appearance will take place on
Wednesday April 21, 2010 at The Studio@620 located at 620 First Avenue South in
downtown St. Petersburg. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the fun begins at 7:00
p.m. Refreshments will be available. Ample street parking is provided.
Mr. Twain speaking about the questions of the day: health care, evolution, education,
war and politics. There will be an opportunity for questions from those who have
always had a question for Mr. Twain but haven’t had a chance to ask him. The
audience will also be invited to share their favorite Twain quotes as part of the
performance.
Mark Twain’s appearance at The Studio@620 is a benefit to raise funds for Haitian Relief. The proceeds will be administered by the Rev. Dr. David Pitt, Chaplain at All Children’s Hospital, who is leading a mission trip to assist a Haitian community in the Dominican Republic offering healthcare and education as well as basic necessities. The mission trip is sponsored by Lakewood United Church of Christ in St. Petersburg, where Dr. Pitt is a member.
The ticket price for the event is about $20, more or less as you are able. Tickets are
available in advance at Lakewood United Church of Christ (2601 54th Avenue
