Jazz in a Mellow Tone: The Al Secen Jazz Workshop

Join us for Jazz in a Mellow Tone!  The Nate Najar Presents music series continues with a swingin' night of music performed by the Al Secen Jazz Workshop.  The group is composed of Al Secen, vibes, John Tschirhart, bass, and Scott Murley, guitar.  Their three instruments blend to create a full sound as they play a mixture of jazz standards, Latin tunes, ballads, and original compositions.  While many groups today try to overwhelm you with sound, their music comes across in a subtle, but satisfying manner.

Although all three are originally from different parts of the country, happenstance brought them together in the Tampa Bay area.  Al is originally from Pittsburgh, PA.  Scott is from New York State, and John is from Detroit MI.  All three were part of the musical scene in their home towns and developed their individual sound with years of experience playing professionally.

The group has been playing together for over 5 years and the interplay between the members, both musical, and personal, makes for a blend of music seeming effortless, though much of it is very intricate.  Their rapport, when combined with excellent musicianship, results in a polished and energetic performance that is a must to experience.
