Fatima Rice : "baroque brésilienne"

The Studio@620 welcomes Fatima Rice as she presents "baroque brésilienne", an art installation. "baroque brésilienne"  works with the emotional and psychological feel of the space. It explores spatial construction and the use of light as a structural element of composition. The narrative of this installation is about remembrance; fugacity, and how everything quickly fades away; awareness, reconnecting lost feelings.

There will be an opening reception on Friday November 26 from 6-9 PM, admission is free and open to the public. Exhibit on display through Saturday December 4 during regular gallery hours, Tues-Sat 12-4 PM.

About the Artist

Fatima Lotfi Rice is an artist based in Orlando, Florida. Her work has been exhibited in Brazil and the United States. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Fatima Lotfi Rice earned her BA in Visual Communications with a minor in Industrial Design from Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation.

"She builds art in tribute to the wisdom of ages; a geometry of interconnectedness that invites inquiry. So her works tell a story that is incomplete without the viewer, every one a unique collaboration. She honors her mother, her blood, the ground she stands on, and the endless possibilities contained in each moment." Michael Lehman, BOBOSART

Artist Statement

My involvement with art installations focuses on creating interactive pieces that directly engage the human body, or that involve artificial perception.
