Decades of Day Work

Presented by Your Real Stories Productions

Studio@620 and Your Real Stories Productions collaborate to bring you Decades of Day Work,” a series that fuses live presentations, music, drama, spoken word, food, and audience discussion to delve into the real stories as lived by day workers  and their families right here at home.

“Decades of Day Work” responds to the best-selling novel and blockbuster movie, “The Help.”  The movie introduced thousands of Americans to the restricted world of domestic workers in 1960's Mississippi. Now, “Decades of Day Work” lets us hear from our friends and neighbors -- Black women who worked ‘in family’ during the Civil Rights Era and the white men and women who employed them.
