A Day in Solidarity with African People

Presented by the Uhuru Solidarity Movement

A Day in Solidarity with African People, Wednesday, September 29, 6:30 p.m. at Studio@620, will feature internationally-recognized speakers from the international African liberation movement, African cultural performances and dinner.

Keynote speaker Omali Yeshitela, chairman of the African People’s Socialist Party USA, will address the widening racial gap in America, despite President Barack Obama’s declaration of a “post racial” America.  Glen Ford, executive editor, Black Agenda Report, and Penny Hess, Chairwoman of the APSC, will also address this deteriorating situation.

� The Day in Solidarity event, open to the public, is part of the nationwide “Reparations in Action” campaign led by the African People’s Solidarity Committee (APSC)The event will benefit the programs of the Uhuru Movement, which seek to correct the injustices and historical wrongs faced by the African community, and expresses white solidarity with the movement for African liberation.   African cultural performances will feature Revolution Hip-Hop by Binga.  

Commemorated by events and gatherings in cities around the U.S., this annual day of recognition serves as a call for support and resources from the white community as an expression of unity with economic and social justice for the African community.  (See www.apscuhuru.org )
