American Duet and The Seven Deadly Plays

Presented as part of The Golden Ticket Theatre Series

The Studio@620 presents "American Duet" by Mark E. Leib and two of the "Seven Deadly Plays" by Stephen Riordan in repertoire June 2-17, 2011.

American Duet by Mark E. Leib

An exciting play by noted playwright, professor and theatre critic Mark E. Leib, AMERICAN DUET follows Charlie and Jessica from their first date in 1970 to a momentous rendezvous in 2001. Over these 30 years, there are marriages and divorces, shared projects, angry fallings-out and lots of politics. Jessica, a student radical, remains a revolutionary all her life, just as Charlie becomes increasingly conservative. Even with their differences, their long friendship - and sometimes love - can't be broken. Some of the milestones along the way include: Vietnam, feminism, the Carter Campaign, the Reagan landslide, the fall of communism and September 11. The story of their ups and downs over the years will speak to anyone who has felt just how stunning developments over the last four decades have been.

Seven Deadly Plays by Stephen Riordan

We all know them.  Greed, Lust, Envy, Sloth, Wrath, Gluttony, & Pride. Please join us at The Studio @ 620 for the World Premiere of the The Seven Deadly Plays which explores themes found in the history, lore, and intrigue in the deadliest of Sins. The first installment finds us indulging in the rich history of one of the most iconic streets in America , The Hollywood Walk of Fame, and how it oozes with the greenest of Envy. Next we stop into a nameless bar in a faceless town to revisit an urban legend with a twist of Greed. This intriguing night of theatre will promise to recall the sinner in all of us.
