Exploring My Options

Program Overview

Join Maureen McDole, as she "explores her options" in this debut book of poetry.

Written over a ten year period, between the ages of twenty and thirty, the poems in this book are reflections on growing up, identity, love and heartbreak, family, the natural world, artistic challenges, death, injustice and hopes fro humanity and the planet.

"For years I lived with walls around myself-mostly it was my own personal oppression that kept them up. I believed dreams could not come true, so I did not even bother trying. My poems are about my own experiences dealing with this dilemma, which I hope inspires other people to also look at their own lives. After all, isn't that what we are here for?"

Maureen McDole is a poet living in Saint Petersburg, Florida. She is currently pursuing a Literature degree at USF. This is her first book of poetry.
