About Creative Clay

Creative Clay was co-founded on May 5, 1995 by executive director Grace-Anne Alfiero.  The philosophy behind Creative Clay is to provide a safe, creative, nurturing environment and service where people can learn and express themselves through the arts.

Through expanding on the beauty of the imagination, art can give people a place to grow. Creative Clay is a unique community arts service with two program sites, one in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg, Florida and one in Asheville, North Carolina. It is Creative Clay's mission to provide people with developmental, physical and emotional challenges a place to experience all aspects of the art world.  Our classes include instruction in the creative process and experiences with various art mediums taught by local artists.  This allows for an improved quality of life enhanced through style and imagination.  Creative Clay's Staff has also helped over twenty-five agencies begin their own arts program.
