The Studio@620 welcomes the Scotty Wright Quintet as part of our Mad for Music series!

Jazz vocalist Scotty Wright has decided that now's the time to sing what's Wright.
Equipped with a smooth, supple voice and a soulful, playful style, Scotty
grants equal awareness to both melody and lyric, becoming a favorite with
jazz audiences wherever he performs.

In addition to his reputation as a jazz singer, however, Scotty is also a songwriter. Drawing material from his recordings and performances, Scotty will share some of his Wrightings.

So, what's left?

The jazz songbook, of course - that treasure trove of standard melodies that have withstood the test of time and fashion - classic compositions that have inspired re-arrangements, re-harmonizations and re-imaginings by the legends of jazz. Songs by Duke Ellington, Rodgers and Hart, Thelonious Monk, Tom Jobim and others are guaranteed the Wright treatment.

The Scotty Wright Quintet glides smoothly, swingingly, from one song, one mood, one groove to another, inviting listeners along for a very satisfying ride!
