The Studio@620 welcomes Philippe Mastrocola for a two day pop up show with live painting demonstrations. Philippe Mastrocola is a Montreal-based graffiti artist, photographer, muralist and painter. After years of painting graffiti, Philippe’s scope and style continued to evolve as he developed a stronger passion for art and experimented with different materials and media. In the past few years, Philippe has stopped doing traditional lettering in his paintings and has transitioned into the abstract painter that he is today. In 2011 Philippe began experimenting with pinhole photography. Recycling his empty spray cans into black and white pinhole cameras. In 2015 he began work on creating a 35mm pinhole camera once again using empty spray cans as material. With each prototype he tweaks the cameras aesthetic and functionality. Come meet the artist and experience the process for yourself!
