About the Project

This mixed media fashion project has evolved from a simple attempt to discover beauty in unusual places, to a full fledged exploration of myself, my world, my emotions, the very core of my being. There were moments during the mad process of creating where I would suddenly become fully conscious of the world around me, and realize that I had been so in tuned and focused on the art that I had no idea where I was. It was a soul searching experience. My original intention was not lost during this process, but it was eclipsed by the sheer emotion and intensity of creation. So, I present to you my SELF, my passion, my hopes, my fears, my victories, my happinesses, sadnesses and my dreams.

About the Artist

I am a fashion photographer and mixed media artist. Art and photography have permeated my life to such an extent that they are a part of the very core of my being. Art nourishes me. I have been working as a photographer for 4 years and I have been published internationally, on book covers as well as in fashion magazines. Wanderlust has led me to England, all over Europe, and to Central and South America. I've lived in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Ecuador and New York for several years, and finally ended up here in St. Petersburg, FL, where my art career has blossomed. Wanderlust will inevitably continue to be a catalyst in my life, driving me to explore more of our extraordinary world, but St. Petersburg is where my family resides, and a part of my heart will always be here. I'd like to extend a HUGE thanks to all my Kickstarter backers for helping to make this project a success! --Nikki Devereux
