In a Forest made of ladders, where the Moon is a balloon, Midsummer is sparking.
Puck is shifting between male and female and unveiling a Contraption made of Dancers (designed to make us fall in love).
When a man transformed into a woman, two women playing men - and Penelope, who’s never missed a Midsummer - are propelled into the Forest by domestic violence, they collide with an aging soldier-mom and the man who misplaced the recipe for perfect lovemaking... as a celebration of transformation drives them toward morning.
Madness dives into gender stereotypes and gender fluidity with dance, humor, visual art and an improvised score. Inspired by the humans in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
