The Studio@620 presents KITE 2020, an exhibit inspired by kites.
A kite seems to live at the edge of a dream. There is a bit of magic in this connection between sky and earth. That magic is experienced through kiting.
The Worlds Greatest Kiting event held in 2016 was Dave Ellis' final grand program at The Studio and we honor this legacy by revisiting this dynamic subject.
A special kiting demonstration will be held as part of The Studio@620's birthday celebration at Lassing Park on June 20, 2020.
In order to protect the health of our community members, this exhibit will be made available by appointments for small groups of 10 people or fewer.

About the Curators
Fahan Sky McDonagh (b. 1975, Chicago, USA) received an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology, School for American Crafts with a focus in Glass Sculpture in 2013. Conceptually, she uses glass and found objects to create sculpture about impermanence and the transience of nature.
In her recent series, natural found objects are collected and hot printed onto pate de verre glass sheets that resemble paper. They are then gently folded in such a way that they appear alight in the breeze. These sculptures are formed by hand, in a hot kiln and then allowed to cool slowly. To capture a moment, a bit of nature, as a thin piece of glass aims to shine a light on the fragility of our environment. McDonagh is a practicing artist and director of TD Glass Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida.
As a co-curator of KITE, she hopes to share the ephemerality and wonder that kites bring to people of all ages.
