Announcing two upcoming performances of Jeff Norton’s play RADIANT CHILD, starring Chad Jacobs, directed by Christopher Rutherford and produced by The Studio@620, December 1st & 2nd at 7pm.

Take a theatrical look at the life and work of 1980’s artist Keith Haring. In this hour long solo performance, you will not only get a taste of what shaped the history and style of Haring’s work, but playwright Jeff Norton delves even further, giving thoughtful insight into the motivations and the artistic process of one of America’s most prolific and financially successful painters of all time. Actor Chad Jacobs will be taking on the role of Keith Haring. With plenty of humor and with lots of heart, this play will inspire you to share your gifts wherever you can, whatever they may be.
This play is suitable for all ages.

This play is being presented on World AIDS Day, we hope you will join us in remembering those lost, those left behind and those still suffering from this horrible disease.
A portion of the proceeds will go to Metropolitan Charities of Pinellas, HIV/AIDS programs. Because this is a fundraising event, a limited number of red Studio@620 Member Tickets will be accepted. Please call The Studio office to RSVP in advance, 727-895-6620

This play was originally produced at Stageworks Theatre in Tampa.

Chad Jacobs (Keith Haring) is and actor and illustrator living in St.Petersburg,FL. He currently works for Feld Entertainment, and has been seen performing with Studio Shakespeare in a number of the bard’s plays.

Christopher Rutherford (Director) is and actor, director, stage manager and technician who has worked with many of TampaBay’s professional theatre companies. Christopher performed this play in 2012 at freeFall Theatre.

Jeff Norton (Writer) was a dedicated theatre artist and educator who dazzled Florida audiences for decades with his comedic ability, his physical prowess and his lofty imagination. His performances were always heralded and his talents seemed endless. Sadly Jeff was murdered in 2010, but the Theatre TampaBay continues to honor his legacy through grants for up and coming artists, there is also a scholarship in his name for graduating theatre students at the high school where he worked. Jeff performed the premiere production of Keith Haring: Radiant Child in 1992 at The Tampa Museum of Art.

Tampa's Stageworks Theatre and its then producing artistic director, Anna Brennen, originated the idea of writing and producing this one-man show with Jeff Norton as Keith Haring. The Hillsborough County Arts Council gave SW a grant that initially subsidized its premier at the Tampa Museum of Art. Stageworks subsequently produced the piece at both the Falk and the Loft Theatres in Tampa and toured it to Miami.
