IR•IS is an evening of poetry that explores the aspects of what lies between the polarities, dualities, and paradoxes within our world. The show is loosely based on the Four Truths of the Noble One and the Japanese art form of arranging flowers, Ikebana. These principles and practices have influenced the body, theme and art to incorporate the way they see their world through writing. These writers are recounting and talking about the things that exist between youth and adulthood, community and growth, religion and society, art and science, everything and nothing-- the in-between. The four poets, Azia May, Merritt Lay, Ming Washington, Skyler Cox are a part of the Howard W. Blake's Creative Writing program.
