The Carrera Summer and Afterschool Program is the only evidence-based program of its kind in the state of Florida designed to serve youth from sixth grade through high-school. Funded through the Office of Adolescent Health (OAH), the Juvenile Welfare Board (Grantee) and the Pinellas County Health Department (Provider) have replicated this program with high fidelity to the model. The Carrera youth are currently in the seventh grade at John Hopkins Middle School and have created their art work in the Self-Expression component of the program. In addition, the program has an Education, Mental Health, Job Club, Family Life and Sexuality Education, Health and Lifetime Individual Sports components.
