The Studio@620 welcomes the Adolfo Mendonça Trio on February 1, 2020! In this concert, Adolfo Mendonca Trio will feature the very best of Brazilian music in an unusual and unique piano trio style. The setlist includes American favorites like Jobim and Marcos Valle, and hidden treasures of Brazilian music, including “Choro”, the music of Milton Nascimento, Djavan and many others, covering almost 100 years of Brazilian music history.

About Adolfo Mendonça
Adolfo Mendonça is a Brazilian that lives in Tampa, FL. Currently his career is focused in Brazilian music and jazz piano playing. He has performed in important venues, such as a recent performance in Blue Note Sao Paulo, Jazz à Vienne 2019” (France), “St. Petersburg Jazz Festival 2019” (USA), “Santos Jazz Festival 2018 e 2019” (Brazil) and several festivals in Brazil.
As an educator, he held a full-time position at City Conservatory of Guarulhos, in Brazil, and has taught masterclasses in the most important Brazilian music college programs in Brazil, such as Souza Lima Berklee, Unesp, Emesp and several others. In the United States, he is finishing his master’s degree in Jazz Studies at the University of South Florida and also had additional educational experiences in New York and with notorious Florida jazz musicians Lynne Arriale, Chris Rottmayer, Per Danielsson, Martin Bejerano, Mark Taylor and Chuck Owen.
