What's Seasonal in Florida?

The Studio@620 welcomes Slow Food Tampa Bay and their presentation of  “What's Seasonal in Florida? ” on Monday August 13, 2012. The evening begins with a pot luck meal at 6:30 PM and the presentation follows at 7 PM. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door. Drinks will be available for purchase.

What ‘s Seasonal in Florida?

If you are from somewhere else or are not familiar with Florida seasonal produce don’t miss this talk. Most of Florida is upside down in growing seasons from the rest of the country. So just what is growing in our Florida seasons?

John E. Matthews is a pioneer in local food sourcing. He founded Suncoast Food Alliance in 2008 and has been a matchmaker between small farms and restaurants in Sarasota, Tampa, and soon in St. Petersburg.  He is committed to supporting small farmers in Florida. 

There is probably no one else around that is more qualified to speak about the what, where, when, of Florida growing.
