The Laramie Project

by Moisés Kauffman and the members of the Tectonic Theater Project

The Studio@620 welcomes The Laramie Project, June 20-22, 2011. This powerful and emotional play focuses on the murder of Matthew Shepard (October 1998), a gay college student living in Laramie, Wyoming. Throughout this show you will meet a myriad of real characters reporting the circumstances of what is happening with Matthew, the legal side of what happened, and personal reactions and opinions. Ryan Monroe specifically wanted to mount this show in June because he understands the importance of the message in The Laramie Project. It has been one of Ryan’s goals to produce this show in hopes of spreading awareness of hate crimes during St. Pete Pride Month. Please come out and support Pinellas County Center for the Arts students as they produce The Laramie Project for you.

Performances on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, June 20-22 at 7:00 PM. General Admission $15, students or seniors $10. Red Studio@620 member tickets will be accepted for these performances.
