Make Me Funny! (Please)

Stand Up Comedy with Kent Roberts

Comedian and author Kent (Brown University alum, New York Times and The Onion contributor, worst-selling author of the Random House book A Portrait of Yo Mama as a Young Man (co-authored with James Joyce; www.portraitofyomama.com), and erstwhile door-to-door dry-cleaning salesman and paperboy) will be asking the same of YOU every week: “Make me funny.” He will be doing this via a live show at The Studio@620, Saturdays at 11pm. It is recommended that you arrive slightly inebriated on well scotch. Laughing gas will be available for recovering alcoholics, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and children. This show is rated R, so all children should be at least 18 years of age, preferably over 40. This show is Pay Slightly More Than What You Can until the fire marshal is called for one week -- due both to the number of people packed into the theater and to Kent’s unauthorized yet spell-binding indoor pyrotechnics show; from that point on seats will start at $380, Rolling Stones pricing, so that Kent can live his dreams of becoming the Anti-Oprah. The Make Me Funny Show is a tag-team effort with www.makemefunny.com, Kent’s Web site. Kent is posting two joke videos a day on the site. You the audience rate them. Over time, Kent becomes funnier. Eventually he becomes humanity’s overlord, reenters his mother ship, and returns to the center of the Sun. Please come. Kent needs your support.

Saturdays, 11pm, at Make Me Funny World Headquarters: Studio@620, 620 1st Ave. S., St. Petersburg, 33701. Pay Slightly More Than What You Can.
