Dan Krassner is the Executive Director of Integrity Florida, a nonpartisan research institute whose mission is to promote integrity in government and expose public corruption. He has served in several senior management positions in Tallahassee including Chief Strategy and Communications Officer for the Florida Chamber of Commerce and VP of Communications at Florida TaxWatch. Florida received a C-minus for corruption risk on State Integrity Investigation’s Corruption Risk Report Card. On a report that graded the state for transparency and accountability, Florida had several categories with poor grades, including a failing grade for ethics enforcement agencies and a D+ for Public Access to Information.
The Center for Public Integrity, Global Integrity and Public Radio International collaborated with experienced journalists in each state to produce the State Integrity Investigation research. The State Integrity Investigation was an unprecedented, data-driven analysis of each state’s laws and practices that deter corruption and promote accountability and openness. Integrity Florida is using the results of State Integrity Investigation to push for ethics reform, and Dan Krassner will bring a discussion about the group's recommendations to Studio@620 on May 30.
