Life @ The End: Caring in the Face of Loss

A Documentary from HealthyState.org

The Studio@620 will host "Life @ The End: Caring in the Face of Loss", a documentary from HealthyState.org on Tuesday August 9 @ 6:30 PM. This event is free and open to the public. A discussion will take place after the film.

Poet Khalil Gibran once said “love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.” ‘life @ the end’ is a half hour documentary film that examines that depth. It looks at life and the power of the human connection through the eyes of people caring for their terminally-ill loved ones in South Florida. A woman and her partner; a young couple raising kids; and a grandmother, single mom, and teenage daughter... Though beaten down by struggles and challenges, the lessons they take away from the experience affirm life in the face of death.

Experts in the program include Gary Barg, editor of Caregiver Magazine; Mae Greenburg, a mental health counselor who runs support groups for the dying, bereaved and caregivers; Ligia Houben, a grief and death counselor; and Liz Schwartz, a South Beach attorney, who discusses legal issues faced by married and unmarried people at the end of life.
