The Studio@620 invites you to "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea" by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning author John Patrick Shanley is an explosive, deeply affecting study of alienation and the redemptive power of love.  This dark romantic tale is turned fantasy through stylish Apache choreography provided by Shana Perkins.

Synopsis: Danny, an emotionally unstable, street brawling trucker, and Roberta, a self-loathing, troubled young woman, collide in a Bronx dive bar, and despite hostile and desperate conditions, begin a powerful, frightening and ultimately fascinating relationship.

Curtis Belz (Danny) has been acting professionally in the Tampa Bay area for the last four years. In that time he has worked with American Stage, Eckerd Theater, Stageworks, Gorilla, Jobsite, and Hattrick Theaters. He recently co-produced and starred in the one man tour de force Jails, Hospitals, and Hip Hop. Some of his other favorite roles are: Mercutio (Romeo and Juliet); Jeff (Lobby Hero); Danny (The Chosen); Wykowski (Biloxi Blues); Skinheadboy (Polaroid Stories); and the Dutchess (Alice in Wonderland); This past fall of 2009 he spent touring nationally, through Eckerd Theatre Company, Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe, starring as the murderer in The Tell Tale Heart, and Poe in The Raven. He has been touring seasonally with Eckerd Theater Company for the last two years. You may have recently seen him as the Promoter in The Lark at Gorilla Theater.

Dahlia Legault (Roberta) is a graduate from USF’s School of The Arts. She has played such roles as Perucchio in Taming of the Shrew, Isabel Dyson in My Children! My Africa! And Sister Agnes in Agnes of God. Catch her this May in Stageworks Theatre’s production of Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl.

Shana Perkins (Choreographer) is a co-artistic director of All Out Rep, a Tampa grown company interested in blending all art forms. She recently choreographed the Agreeable Husband, and Addiction: The Moment of Clarity. The company last performed at Creative Loafing's "Sensory Overload", and will premiere a work at Ybor's Moving Image Festival. She is the director of dance at Orange Grove Middle School, and sets work at various educational settings including;  Blake Performing High School, St. Petersburg College, and Florida Atlantic University.
