MURDER BALLAD By Heather Jones

Co-Produced with The Blue Scarf Collective

MURDER BALLAD tells the story of men and women in Knoxville, TN, one year after the end of the Civil War, as they struggle to accept the tragedies they experienced during the war, and embrace love and life.  Eastern TN, like most of Appalachia, was split during the war, friend fighting friend and brother fighting brother, causing pain and hostility that didn’t end with the war. Based on the stories in traditional American murder ballads, the play is a tense, spooky, heartbreaking and hopeful look at how war affects community. Directed by Selena Ambush.

This production is part of The Golden Ticket Theatre series.  Series subscribers may use their golden tickets to attend the performance of their choice.  A limited number of red member tickets will also be accepted. Advance reservations requested.
