Program Overview
The Hawthorne Trio is a faculty artist ensemble at Southwest
Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Founded in
1985, the trio has performed across the United States and has
recorded for Albany Records. The Hawthorne Trio opened the 2000-2001
Season of Concerts at the Chopin Academy in Warsaw and gave recitals
in the Czech Republic. Most recently, the ensemble has appeared
at the Imperial College in London and the University of Arkansas-Little
Rock. Of their performances, one critic was led to write: “the
Hawthorne Trio is focused and expressive in a fashion that doesn’t
get in the way of the composer. And therein lies the genius of
these unpretentious, unsung, remarkable artists.”
