Sun Screen Film Festival


 

Program Overview

The 1st Annual SunScreen Film Festival has received close to 200 film submissions from all over the world. SunScreen will be showing films made all across the U.S. and Canada as well as films from Australia, Germany, and Italy. The festival will include documentary, short, animation, and feature length narrative films. Selected films will be eligible for awards for Best Documentary, Best Narrative Feature and Best Short, as well as a variety of other awards.

Film Submissions

The SunScreen Film Festival is accepting filmmaker submissions through April 21. Films can be submitted via WithoutaBox.com or directly to the Festival at sunscreenfilmfestival.com.

Festival Fundraiser

Free admission.

The fundraiser will be a wine tasting and silent auction at the Studio to benefit the SunScreen Film Festival. A few of the items included in the silent auction are; works of art by local artists, Reno Beach surf shop gift certificate, $50 from Oyster bar, $50 from Z Grille, a box of cigars from Central Cigar, Vinoy package, Tranquility Day Spa package, Shakolad chocolate basket, Independent Beer Baar unlimited tab for one for a night, and two personal training sessions and a three month trial membership to City Gym.

The St. Petersburg, Clearwater Film Society strives to;

Build relationships with local filmmakers and schools, to provide local filmmakers opportunities and a venue to display their art and to allow them to be proactive and improve their art and craft;

Increase the public's awareness and support of the local film community as a cultural and economic asset;

Attract national and international attention to the area in the support of independent film;

Increase the number of filmmakers producing feature length and short films that are nationally recognized;

Increase awareness of the area as a desirable shooting location and in doing so, creating positive economic impact;

Become a major regional/national showcase of independent film in St. Petersburg that will be an event attracting visitors and press from across the nation.
