  Program Overview

Ken Perenyi has been creating high-class reproduction paintings for over thirty years.  His life has been dedicated to perfecting the methods and techniques of painting from the old masters to the moderns.  His works are made specifically for decoration, connoisseurs and collectors who demand absolute perfection. His work is so perfect that even the best experts often believe his pieces to be period works of art.

During the course of the exhibition there will be opportunities to meet and speak with Ken during a discussion on 'What is Art' that includes a question and answer session. A performance by Lothar Bergeest is also scheduled. Mr. Bergeest is a nationally well known baritone and a favorite in the Tampa Bay region. Mr. Bergeest will present an evening of selections representative of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, the favorite centuries of the arts for Mr. Perenyi.

Lothar Bergeest

Lothar Bergeest's broad interest in music of all kinds has brought him a diverse and rewarding career that includes a repertoire of over four dozen opera, oratorio, and musical theater roles, singing with stars that range from Roberta Peters and Robert Merrill, to Dave Brubeck, Allan Jones, and Al Hirt. His interpretation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera at Carnegie Hall led to a national tour with the New York Pops and its founder, Skitch Henderson, as well as contracts to appear with orchestras such as Dallas, Buffalo, Louisville, Milwaukee, and the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
Mr. Bergeest will sing selections from 17th century Italian, 18th century English and 19th century American composers. These selections will be chosen to compliment Mr. Perenyi's paintings. In addition Mr. Bergeest will sing some holiday pieces to keep us in the spirit of the season.
