Young poets and spoken word artists, ages 12-18, are encouraged to compete for an opportunity to perform with Mayhem Poets at Ruth Eckerd Hall on November 17 & 18, 2006.

Mayhem Poets
The Mayhem Poets are a diverse and dynamic collective of young writers and entertainers bringing slam and performance poetry into university, high school, middle school, and elementary school settings.
Performance poetry is an accessible, appealing art form that can motivate students to foster an appreciation for both classic and contemporary poetic/theatrical expression.
Utilizing hip-hop rhythms and dynamic theatrical techniques, the Mayhem Poets have developed powerful performances and workshops to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to craft and perform original poetry.
The Mayhem Poets will be joined by local youth poets to perform at Ruth Eckerd Hall.
